Chic Black Style

Oh this shoot. I loved shooting it, collaborating with friendors for it, working side by side with my bestie, Fox Hollow Design Co., on the paper goods, exploring the day as a hybrid shooter (yay film!) and seeing the vision all come together. This shoot was shot last April, which I can't believe it's already been a year since this one! Our team has the pleasure and honor of having this project featured on none other than Grey Likes Weddings today! Head on over to Grey Likes to see the full feature!

Easter Weekend

This weekend was FULL. Nonstop, no rest, kind of FULL. Definitely not how I remember Easter as a kid; I guess it's because I'm in the parent role now! I never understood why my family was always so tired after we did all the Easter activities growing up...now I completely get it. There's so much preparation to be done to make it special for everyone. And it was definitely worth it to see Xander's reaction :)

How to: Make Cheap Envelope Liners

Alright friends, this is going to be a quick and easy one this week. This is decor execution week for a shower I'm hosting in our backyard this weekend, so I thought I'd keep this one as simple as possible.

Two years ago, I sent this suite (see image below, photograph by Katelyn James) to a style shoot in Virginia for a friend. Ever since then, I've been getting emails from (mostly) brides asking where to get those wood liners...

The 'No Brainer' Baby Book

I clearly remember the night I found out I was pregnant with Xander. Joel was working the night shift that evening, and it was sometime after he'd left already. I had a quiet house to myself. Well, and Betty and Butters. I was getting ready to hop in the shower and thought, "hey, I wonder if I'm pregnant, let's just take a test. I think I have a spare in the cabinet." So I peed on a stick and didn't think twice. Just set it down and hopped in the tub...

Creating a Morning Routine

For some reason, reading Marie Kondo's "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" sparked the notion for me to make changes beyond the recommendations in her book. Maybe it was the time of year since I read it in January and wanted to start the year fresh with a new habit. New Year's? Who knows. Either way, I now have a morning routine I can't seem to function without...

How to Plan a Year of Dates!

Since we just celebrated Valentine's Day on Sunday, I figure it's great timing to share what I gifted Joel this year. For this particular holiday, we do it a bit different than I used to picture Valentine's Day to be. Let me just say, I ADORE Valentine's with my husband. We both have birthdays this month sandwiching the 14th right between them, so we agreed that anything we do for this day would either be very small or something for 'us...'

I'm Here

That's me up there. I've been MIA for a while now on social media as I've been trying to ground myself in a big change. It hasn't been easy to say the least, but I made it and I'm here now ready to share.

I have this desire to be 'all in' in my new role as a full-time stay-at-home mama and housewife. Please excuse how very 50s this sounds to type! I've been a stay at home mama since my son was born in November of 2014, but even then I was being pulled in so many directions...
