He says I'm crazy.
I think he's right. I think he's right because IIII think I'm crazy. And maybe a bit delusional.
We've decided now was the time (of all times!) to renovate our kitchen. Me, at 31 weeks pregnant. Yep. And we want it done in a month.
Now you think I'm crazy too.
Look ya'll, it's going to work. I'm convinced. Before April 1st hit, we researched kitchens, read reviews on appliances, and even found a fantastic contractor to do our countertops (and even in our timeframe!) (UPDATE: this part has changed drastically. Our contractor backed out on us, and left us high and dry before our appointment to measure the space. So we changed gears are are now doing a lot of this reno DIY!). Also, every major item needed for the reno has been purchased. We are locked in and more than ready. No turning back now!
Plus, the real deadline is the fact that we're hosting one of my best friend's baby showers in our home on the last day of the month! I think it's the perfect motivation to get this project done! The thing with renovations is that no one likes them dragging on for months. Ain't nobody got time for that. Especially this preggo.
(Another UPDATE: We won't be finishing this project in one month like I optimistically hoped! Now that so much is DIY, we've got to space it out a bit more than if we hired out for the space. Oh well! It's still happening though, so that's a plus!)
We thought about keeping this project completely under wraps until it was complete, but I thought it'd be fun to document and share the journey. So sit back, and enjoy our whirlwind crazy storm that's about to take place :)
I'll leave you with a handful of before photos of the space for reference:
(ABOVE) Like our 1970s built in cutting board? Yeah...neither do we.
Alright. Now you know what we're working with! Here we go!
